The Terri Schavio case is being brought up before the Florida Supreme Court. Her husband still wishes to disconnect the feeding tube that delivers food to her. She is in a vegetative state and the only thing that keeps her here with us is that tube. Her husband wants to have the tube shut off; her parents want it to remain in. if you were the judge how would you decide?
Ok folks here are the debate.
Death with dignity .. How do you feel about it? Do any of you have a living will? How do your religious or personal beliefs factor into your personal choices for what might happen to you should you end up in a catatonic state?

I am guessing that she can obviously not talk and make her mind up. But this is a serious debate and issue through out the world. I beleive that it is wrong to hold a person in a state like that. I can understand her parents feelings. I can understand the husbands feelings. He would like to let go and let her be free. I don't beleive it is right to let her live like that for another 20+ (possible more or less) years. Being attached to a tube is not fun, awake or asleep. I know first hand what its like have a tube attached to you. I believe if the husband would like to put her to her final sleep and give her peice it should be his final choice over the matter, not the parents as they are not her soul mate, only her parents (dont get me wrong thats a big thing to). But when you plan to spend the rest of your life with someone, I beleive you are entitled to make decisions on be-half of them. I am a catholic and realise that euthenasia is not something that the catholic church accepts, but I am starting to really find myself detatching from religion altogether, I beleive in my own God, and how my life is decided is made upon my own decisions and actions. I beleive euthenasia should be made legal throughout the entire world.
I hope you understand what I am trying to say here, and look foward to other responses.

Life is one thing - quality of life is quite another. I don't think keeping someone in Terri's condition alive is doing them any favors. Death with dignity. If I'm condemned to a life in bed, unable to move, talk, or function, don't bother. Pull my plug.

First of all, how do I make my picture smaller? I feel like a dork. Life is one thing - quality of life is quite another. I don't think keeping someone in Terri's condition alive is doing them any favors. Death with dignity. If I'm condemned to a life in bed, unable to move, talk, or function, don't bother. Pull my plug. is that better? i resized it. On the debate, i'd have to agree with you
